My stay at the Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel had its highlights, but also notable downsides. While the staff were friendly and attentive, the room conditions left much to be desired, especially regarding safety and comfort. The historical charm of the building added character, but inconsistencies in service and amenities detracted from the overall experience.

Rooms
5.0
My room had safety issues with broken windows, which was alarming, especially traveling with children. The beds were uncomfortable, and the furnishings felt dated. I expected more from a hotel of this caliber.
Service
5.0
The staff were friendly and welcoming, especially during check-in. However, there were some communication issues, particularly regarding my breakfast payment that needed attention.
Location
6.0
The location was convenient for exploring Manchester, although it wasn't quite right in the bustling city center. Walking during bad weather was less enjoyable.
Dining
7.0
Breakfast was enjoyable with good options, although there could be improvements for kids’ selections. The dining atmosphere was pleasant, making it a nice experience overall.
Facilities
5.0
Facilities overall were adequate, yet the lack of a fridge in the room stood out. I also noticed that there should have been more basic items like cups and towels for the number of guests.

I enjoyed my stay at the Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel, thanks to the excellent service from staff and comfortable rooms. However, I did encounter some issues with noise and inconsistencies in room amenities that detracted from the experience. The breakfast was a highlight, offering a great variety and quality of food, which I truly appreciated.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms were generally comfortable, but I faced issues in Room 237 with noise from the delivery bay below, impacting my sleep. After moving to Room 403, I found better conditions but also had to deal with a sink issue. Overall, the room was well-sized and clean, but some maintenance could improve the experience.
Service
8.0
I found the staff, from reception to concierge, to be friendly and attentive. They handled my complaints promptly which I appreciated, although I think management could improve guest handling during busy check-in times.
Location
7.0
The hotel's location is excellent, being close to Spinningfields and Deansgate, making it easy to explore the city. However, ongoing construction in the area can create some noise, which was a downside during my stay.
Dining
9.0
Breakfast was a standout with a diverse and tasty spread available at a lower pre-booking price. The restaurant had a pleasant atmosphere, and the meals I enjoyed there met my expectations.
Facilities
6.0
The facilities like valet parking were convenient, although I found some room amenities lacking, such as the hidden coffee supplies and absence of a fridge. Housekeeping needs to improve in managing room service plates left in the hallways.

My stay at the Manchester Marriott Victoria & Albert Hotel was quite enjoyable, marked by the hotel’s unique charm and friendly staff. While the breakfast was good, I do wish there had been made-to-order options like omelettes. The location is fantastic, near local shops and restaurants, but navigating to the hotel could be tricky for rideshare drivers. Overall, it was a clean and comfortable place to rest my head after exploring the city, though some room facilities could use an update.
